The Host in Me

I’m a lifelong checklist enthusiast; I’ve always loved creating welcoming spaces. Hosting dinner parties. Decorating for the seasons. Making people feel at home the moment they walk through the door.

So when life took an unexpected turn, the idea of becoming a host no longer felt like a distant dream, it felt possible.

From Montana to North Carolina

A decade ago, I traded two feet of Montana snow for a fresh chapter in North Carolina. I landed in a charming, Hallmark-style town just outside Charlotte, historic downtown, front porches, and a true sense of community.

Not long after, I found a sweet little cottage on a tree-lined street. It quickly became my sanctuary, Belmont Bliss.

On weekends, though, I felt drawn to the mountains. Hiking, exploring, and slowing down in nature became a ritual. Before long, I convinced my partner that we needed our own weekend place, a cozy mountain retreat where we could recharge (and, of course, decorate).

Just one month later, we were closing on a beautiful 1930’s brick home near the Blue Ridge Parkway, complete with a separate studio apartment above the garage.

And just like that, we were hosts.

That’s how Parkway Paradise and Belmont Bliss were born.

What Hosting Has Taught Me

Hosting has taught me far more than how to manage a property.

It’s taught me how much the details matter. How communication can set the tone for an entire stay. How a thoughtfully prepared space can help people slow down, reconnect, and feel cared for, even when they’re far from home.

I didn’t set out to become an Airbnb host, but I truly can’t imagine my life without it now.

Why I Started Overlook Hosting Co.

Overlook Hosting Co. was born from a desire to build a life — and a career — that aligned with the mountains, community, and a slower, more intentional way of living.

After years in the corporate world, I knew I wanted to step away from constant scale-for-the-sake-of-scale and instead put my skills to work in a way that felt grounded, personal, and meaningful. Mountain towns thrive on care, stewardship, and connection, and I wanted my work to reflect those same values.

I help everyday people, neighbors, second-home owners, and fellow mountain lovers, turn their properties into beautiful, well-run short-term rentals with clarity, confidence, and systems that actually work. Whether you’re launching your first Airbnb, refining an existing listing, or caring for a vacation home from afar, my goal is to make hosting feel manageable, respectful of the home, and genuinely enjoyable.
